FAQ's

Q.	What is the difference between a FT415 and a FT420?
A.	An FT415 has a battery for self-contained operation. The FT420 needs external power.
Q.	What does "loop powered" mean?
A.	The FT420 produces a signal called a "4-20 mA current". It draws more or less current depending on what the flow rate is. If you are not using this signal, you can ignore it because even at 20 milliamps it is far less than the current available from any normal power supply. If you want to use this signal, the connections which power the unit are the same as the signal connections.
Q.	How do I make the FT420 work with a particular flow sensor?
A.	Each flow sensor has a "k-factor", which is the number of pulses per gallon which the flow sensor produces. When you first set up the FT420, it will prompt "SET K". Entering this number will allow the FT420 to calculate rate and total properly.
